Rates

Okay, so you've looked at my portfolio and decided to use me for whatever photographic project you have coming up. Here are some examples of what your job might cost. [Rates are correct as of 1st November 2009.]

STUDIO EXAMPLE:

You want a nice set of studio photographs which are of:

  • you;
  • you and your partner;
  • you, partner and the kids;
  • you, partner, kids, the dog and anyone else you can think of;

with everyone smiling and looking happy so that you can then:

...send to the Grandparents;
...hang over the mantlepiece;
...look back in twenty-five years time and think "Wow, we were skinny!"

So if you are looking for something along those lines, it'll take about an hour in studio and a further three hours in post-production to give you at least a dozen fabulous shots. Depending on how it all goes you may end up with a lot more 'keepers' but no guarantees.

Cost: $500 (+ WA Sales Tax)

Note: Prints, matting and framing are all additional to this cost. You can of course take the images I provide and use any online provider like Shutterfly, Snapfish, oFoto, and get your prints there. But why not keep it all under one roof and help sustain a local business? My print rates can't compete with the online labs, but I do offer personal service, and if you don't like the prints, I'll redo them for free... or over and over again until you are happy.

LOCATION SHOOT EXAMPLE:

Very similar to the above but this time we are shooting outside at some pleasant San Juan Island location; South Beach, Lime Kiln Point State Park, or perhaps on the lawn of your beautiful garden. Either way, it takes a little more organization and good luck on the weather side of things to create a great photograph.

Cost: $600 (+ WA Sales Tax)

Note: Same as above

COMMERCIAL SHOOT EXAMPLE:

You might be a contractor who has just finished a million dollar West Side property, or a realtor selling a million dollar West Side property, either way you are looking to get the most for your photographic investment. I can put together a comprehensive package that will showcase your project in the best possible light.

  • Multiple photographs per room:
  • Perspective corrected Exterior shots;
  • Panoramic Quicktime Movies of interior rooms;

Cost: $800 (+ WA Sales Tax)

Note: Same as above

WEDDING SHOOT EXAMPLE:

I find that every bride wants different things, so I charge a flat fee for the wedding shoot/post-production and then you can pick and choose which images you want to print/mat/frame, or have photobooks created from my online proofing website. This way you get exactly what you want, and it keeps the cost down.

Weddings and wedding photography are expensive. You are not just paying for my time, but my artistry and experience. I will create a wedding day that you won't be able to forget, because all the emotions and feelings will be captured in the final photos. I am first and foremost a portraiture photographer; it's my job to create not just the best possible likeness of a person, but their personality and character too. And a wedding photographer just doesn't take the photos, they are someone you can rely on outside of family and friends. I've sorted flowers, lit candles, found the rings, made sure the petal girls knows where to go, and how many petals to drop... You essentially are hiring another a realtime wedding planner, but someone totally concerned with your visual record of this day.

  • Pre Wedding images (which are actually the most fun and memorable for the bride/groom/family)
  • Wedding images;
  • Reception images;
  • Additional images to create a narrative, e.g. ferry arriving, hotel images, scenic images.

Cost: Varies depending on scale and style of wedding, but average is $2500 (+ WA Sales Tax)

Note: Same as above

PRO BONO WORK:

I routinely do work for non-profits in the local community that can benefit from the services of a professional photographer but don't have the resources to pay for one. Please contact me if you think I can help.

ANYTHING ELSE:

If your project doesn't fit neatly into any of the above scenerios please contact me to discuss your specific ideas.
